Once you arrive at the airport you will call the local HR Manager for pick up: Jeff
Mullins (704) 223-2351. IMPORTANT REQUIREMENT: You must submit your travel
information at least 2 weeks in advance in order for the employer to
arrange for pick up. See additional information for additional details

from whatever airport the student arrives they will need to travel to Elizabeth City, NC. To meet the employer for orientation and transportation into the Outer Banks.

 Upon arriving in Elizabeth City the students should stay at the following hotel to prepare to meet with the Food Lion representative;

Quality Inn
522 south Hughes Blvd
Elizabeth City, NC 27909
Phone, 252-338-3951.
Students can get a rate of approximately $25.00 per night if shared with 4 total per unitPick up and orientation can only be arranged for groups on Monday thru Wednesday.

 Upon meeting in Elizabeth City, on the designated day, the students will go thru the Food Lion orientation process, social security application process, a lunch and then Food Lion will transport the students down to the Outer Banks. This is approximately a two hour drive. Food Lion Leases the transportation and has to reserve this in advance.

 Upon arriving into the Outer Banks the students will be taken to temporary housing that is located in proximity of their working location. Food lion pays for the 1st week of this housing. As food Lion pays for the first week of housing the arrival dates are very important. Food Lion has to pay this cost in advance so having the accurate arrival date for students is very important and needed at this time.

 During the first week the students will be provided with local housing options and it is the student choice as to where they wish to secure housing. Housing costs should not exceed $90.00 per week as average.

 Once students have been placed into their housing they will be scheduled to meet with their supervisor and receive the schedule that is agreed upon by the student and supervisor.

All students who are arriving to Laughlin after 8pm have to be prepared to stay one night in the motel across the river or in one of the hotels in Laughlin. From experience we can tell that prices in motels in Bullhead City are a little bit lower then in Laughlin. Next morning students need to call Joanna at 1 702 420 3638 and tell her what time they will be at apartment complex so she can meet there with them and place them in housing. From hotel students can take a cup or a bus to get to Crown Point Apartments.

Apartment complex doesn’t let us accommodate students in apartments between 8pm -8am so please let students know that they can start calling Joanna to schedule an appointment after 8 am

Please be advised that housing for students in Laughlin will be available from March 15th - for students with job offer starting March 15th and March 18th -19th - for students with job offer starting March 19th.  Students who are arriving earlier should be prepared to stay  a couple nights in the motel.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
